Update on Me

Hi!  Welcome to my site.  I hope that you will enjoy learning more about me as you browse my site.  Please take your time looking around.  I have a lot of cool stuff, as well as some very interesting information.

I apologize for not posting updates in sooo long. Things have been happening, but I've been busy and keep forgetting to keep people posted on my progress! But I thank you for your continued support and prayers. They DO make a difference!  Please feel free to check out my recent updates.

I created this site is to get some information out to the rest of the world.  I suffer from several serious health problems, including idiopathic Gastroparesis, intestinal dysmotility, intestinal pseudo-obstruction, prolonged QT, Factor V (blood clotting disorder), Osteoporosis, Fibromyalgia, Dumping Syndrome, GERD, LPRD, among others.  Most people have never heard of some of these illnesses.  I want to make the public aware of them because they get little attention, and even a lot of doctors don't know about them.  I have established a support group for gastroparesis and another for prolonged QT.

On March 13, 2006, I had a multivisceral (5 organ...stomach, small bowel, pancreas, liver, duodenum) transplant at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center after a 16 month wait. It saved my life, and I am doing very well!

Over the summer of 2001 a group of people from the online GP support group got together and we have founded a non-profit organization dedicated to Gastroparesis. The home page of Gastroparesis Patient Association for Cures and Treatments, Inc. (G-PACT) is located at www.g-pact.org. Please e-mail info@g-pact.org if you have an interest in this. You can help G-PACT out through donations of supplies, voluntary services, advice, and financial support. Browse the site, see what we offer, "meet" others who have it and read their stories, and hopefully you will learn something new along the way too! We do the best we can given our challenging circumstances!

Please take your time looking around this website I created to tell my story. Writing my story to share with others helps me cope, and people tell me they are able to cope better too..  Feel free to write me anytime.  I do get A LOT of e-mail, so I can't personally respond to everyone individually, but will do my best!
