As of March 28, 2001-
The past week I have been really sick. A week ago I was in the ER with shortness of breath, chest pain, etc. My EKG was unchanged from previous ones and my chest x-ray was normal. I followed up with my internist on Friday. My heart was beating at 100 and she detected a murmur which I have never had before. My heart rate is also always 50-60 so it was very fast for me. I also have a fever, am really weak, achy, dizzy and had a bloody posterior nosebleed yesterday (going back into the throat more than forward) which I could not get under control for a while. This is not related to flu, sinuses, or allergies. For that reason they ordered another echocardiogram. I had that this morning and am waiting for the results. All I know from what I saw is my heart rate was running 110-120. I am hoping that is related to the fever and infection, which is possible. I still have a j-tube infection which has not responded well to 12 days of Cipro (antibiotic). A couple weeks ago I decided I am getting a Jeep Wrangler. I am going to save until I have enough, but am hoping in 6-8 months I will have it in my driveway! I am looking forward to that, and in the meantime I bought some Jeep gear to hold me over and also will test drive them a lot between now and then! As of March 13, 2001- Sorry it had been a while since I posted an update! The latest news is that my CT scan did not show any major problems. There was some fuzziness which may mean infection, and with the fever, etc that is how we are treating it. Hopefully that will clear up the problem, although the infection may not be the only source of the pain. It may also be that my tube is right up against the abdominal wall and has no room which causes it to back up. For the first time my doc felt that there is a lot of distention and it is very hard. Hopefully the infection is the only cause and I will recover completely from the pain. If not, it may just be something I have to put up with...not what I wanna do, but I will if I have to.
