Feeling Crappy?

Domperidone is a motility drug which was studied in the United States for 20 years.  There was only one reported death from domperidone, and only then because the patient was given a very high dose through IV.  There has never been any reports of death on oral domperidone.  There are no serious side effects.

In spite of its proven safety, it was not approved for use in the U.S.  Janssen Pharmaceutical quit researching this drug in October 2000.  It is available in almost every other country in the world.  It has proven to be effective for many people with GP who did not respond well to the other meds available.  Now propulsid has been pulled from the market, erythromycin has little benefit when not taken with another motility drug, and very few people can tolerate reglan.  For this reason, there are NO drugs available to treat the underlying problem with GP which is poor motility.  There are only drugs to treat symptoms of GP and they are not usually very effective and have bad side effects at times.

Domperidone can be obtained from other countries with or without a prescription.  The FDA allows US citizens to import a three month supply of medication if that medication is not available in the US. Please click on the domperidone pharmacies link to obtain information on pharmacies that will ship to the US (Currently the page is inaccessible so e-mail for that info)
